Our Policies
Emergencies
- In the event of an emergency, I authorise Studio Paws to seek immediate veterinary assistance from a local vet.
- I understand that any veterinary services will be at my expense.
- I understand that all attempts will be made to contact me in the event of an emergency.
Late Cancellation/Rescheduling/Non-Attendance
- A fee of 50% of the cost of the groom/service will be charged for appointments cancelled/rescheduled later than 9am of the day before the scheduled appointment or non-attendance.
- I understand that while Studio Paws make every effort to send a reminder the day before any appointment the responsibility for remembering and attending scheduled appointments is mine.
- Payment is due on or before the day of grooming.
Drop-Off/Late Pick-Up
- In order to help your dog feel secure and settle quickly we ask that you set a confident, positive tone for them at drop off and leave as quickly as possible. Please note that waiting on-site is not possible.
- The amount of notice needed for pick up will be agreed upon at drop off, pick up is expected at the agreed time.
- Variations to drop off time or late pick up should be arranged the day before the scheduled appointment.
- While we make every effort to accommodate these requests we cannot guarantee they will be possible.
- Late Pick Up beyond the agreed time will incur a fee of $20 per half hour.
Matted Coats
- I understand that if my dog’s coat is matted Studio Paws will make every effort to de-matt it but if it is considered dangerous to do so or my dog becomes stressed the matts will be shaved out and the entire coat may need to be shortened as a result.
- I understand that if my dog is severely matted there is an increased risk of clipper burn and/or cuts occurring, and while all care is taken to avoid this, in many extreme matt cases it is unavoidable.
- I understand that matted coats and a de-matting procedure will take extra time and so an additional fee will be incurred.
- I understand that, should Studio Paws consider it necessary, shaving due to bad matting will be done without further consultation and that Studio Paws will not intentionally leave matts in a dog’s coat.
Health and Safety
- I understand that I am responsible for notifying Studio Paws if my dog is showing any signs of illness before their scheduled appointment.
- I understand that I must notify Studio Paws of any medical conditions and behavioural issues when making a booking. Although we take care to make it as pleasant an experience as possible, grooming can be stressful for some dogs so please notify us of any heart, stress related or physical conditions before we groom your dog so we can ensure the best possible experience for them.
- Aggressive dogs may require the use of a muzzle.
- I understand that Studio Paws have the right to refuse to do all, or part, of my dogs groom if they cannot be settled enough for the groom to proceed, become too stressed to continue at any point and can’t be settled in a reasonable amount of time, or if they become aggressive and cannot be muzzled, particularly when trying to groom their head, face or nails.
- I understand that my dog’s vaccinations, including kennel cough, should all be up to date before I bring them for any appointment. I will provide proof of this before it is groomed and notify Studio Paws in advance if they are not up to date on all vaccinations.
